Dang- Abe loves his Aunt Noodlie.

In other Abel news: This kid has recovered from 48 hours of vaccine induced fever, shaken off his crabby pants, and is spending most of his time laughing, smiling and practicing motor boat lips. He has also decided to be a little night time weasel again (albeit a cute weasel). Mike and I decided that NO MATTER WHAT, we are NOT turning the lights on in our house until 7am. If Babel wants to be up at 4am, more power to him, but we will all be hanging out in the dark!
Additionally, Abel is still the most completely average baby: at 4 months he weighs 14 pounds and 14 ounces, and is 24.5 inches long. Height, weight and head circumference all at the 50th percentile.

Last night as I was nursing Abel to sleep, I reflected on our nightly ritual. Every evening since Abel was born, we have sat together in our dark, cozy and quiet house (often with the the faint sounds of Mike playing boggle in the background). I get to witness this beautiful baby, drifting to sleep with a tummy full of milk. I just love to feel him settle and calm and get heavy on my lap. There is nothing sweeter.
Mike plays boggle? Alone?

ReplyDeletecomments on two counts - owen is the same size at three months that abel is at 4 months...we truly do have a chunky monkey!! and sarah, i am right there with you regarding your nighttime ritual. feeling him slow his sucking, pause, fall off, and then nuzzle into the crook of my arm is one of the sweetest things i've ever felt. we must savor it while we can!
